5 Things to Love About Japanese

Image
Picture taken by me I was in Japan some months ago. It was my first time traveling there and probably one of the best decision in my life. Going there really makes me believe that there still good people out there. Haha. Though I was only there for 2 weeks, here are 5 reasons why I like Japanese people when I travel to Japan: 1) The people are helpful If you don’t know the direction, you don’t have to worry because everyone will help you. I was helped a lot of time when I was in Japan. One was when I asked a girl about the train platform. She didn’t know, so she tried to look it up on her phone. After that, she lead me to the right platform, which was pretty far from the previous platform. We had to climb many stairs to reach that platform. When she’s finished guiding us, she even research more and tell me how many station and how long I’d be in the train. After that, she went back to her original platform which was located far from my platform. What an angel T_T 2...

The Worst Seat on Air Asia Flight

Image
Picture taken by me Throughout my traveling journey, I never really pick my seat number on the plane. I always treat that as a surprise. So wherever I sit and whoever beside me, is a gift. Of course, it’s either a good gift or a disappointing gift. But then last week, upon my return from Malaysia –to Indonesia of course- I got the seat at the very back of the airplane. It even stuck to the lavatory. O. ma. God. The first thing that I was worried about was about the fact that I’d hear the sound of flush throughout the flight. I don’t know about you, but it was pretty disgusting for me. Also, what if there was another sound accompanying that flush, like… you know… the sound of that “private business”. Anyway, that wasn’t the only thing that bothered me. The fact that my seat was too close from the kitchen, also made me uncomfortable. I could already imagine that it’d be noisy and hectic. Picture taken by me The last thing that I worried was because it was leg...

Scary Experience in Awana Skyway Genting Highland, Malaysia Review

Image
Last week I went to Malaysia. It wasn’t my first time there since few years back I’ve been there several times for holiday. But last week’s trip was a bit different. It was such a sudden trip. And more importantly… I was only there for 2 days. What?!  Loving all the view from up above the sky (My own photo) I went to Genting Highlands. It was located at the top of the mountain and the only way to get there, I believe was by cable car. When I was browsing the internet, I read somewhere that it was one of the highest cable car in the world. Yo! I was so excited. Before getting on the cable car, I went to the station by bus from KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) 2. The price was pretty reasonable. It was 35 MYR per person. The bus arrived at 11.30 AM at the exit number 2, B5. The punctuality of the bus was nice. Not to mention that the seat was very comfortable that I was sound asleep throughout the trip. Anyway, let’s fast forward to the arrival time wh...

Getting Annoyed at Scammers in Milano, Italy

Image
It was the most beautiful time of the year, Christmas season (my own photo) This happened years ago when I traveled to Western Europe. My tour guide let me wandered by myself in Milano downtown. Since it was my first time being there, I was so mesmerized by everything. All the classic building with beautiful decoration really wowed me. Earlier on the bus, the tour guide told me about young scammers who offer free wristlets. He said I should never accept them because once I accepted the bracelet, they would force me to pay for it in a really high price. Or in other definition, I’d get ripped. He said those scammers aren’t the real Italians. Instead, they’re immigrants from suburbs. Therefore, they came to Italy to ripped tourists who still had no idea about that tactic. The photo was a bit dark because there was no sun shined (my own photo) When I got off the bus, of course the first thing I did was taking whole bunch of photos here and there. It was my first su...

The Old Man at Ratchawong Pier, China Town Bangkok.

Image
It was a hot evening when I decided to visit Asiatique. Since I was in Yaowarat (Ratchawong Pier), China Town Bangkok, the most efficient way to go to Asiatique was by riding tourist express boat. It cost a bit more from ordinary boat. Tourist boat with blue flag cost 40 baht per person, while if I went to Asiatique from Sathorn Pier near Saphan Taksin BTS Station by shuttle boat, it would be totally free of charge. But it was a waste of time to transit and queue agai n, hence I just simply let go my 40 baht for the sake of time efficiency and effectiveness.  The view from Ratchawong Pier (my own photo) Unfortunately enough, the tourist boat wouldn’t come until 4 pm. And when I bought the ticket, it was only around 2.30 pm. That said, I got to wait for about 1.5 hours. Since my feet were tired to further explore China Town while waiting for the boat to arrive, I just rest myself at the pier. It was a pretty chill evening. I sat on the long chair at the corner wa...

Watching the Prettiest Ladyboys at Calypso Asiatique

Image
For those who don’t know what is ladyboys, ladyboys is a term for guys who transgender into girls. They put on makeup, long hair, wearing skirt, and even do genitals plastic surgery to be girls. It’s not uncommon to see ladyboys in Thailand. I remember that many times I saw cashier or waitress that turned out to be ladyboys, or local calls it kathoey / katoey. Just like any other plastic surgery, some look extra ordinarily beautiful while other only look okay, even ‘meh.’ The fancy indoor of Calypso Ladyboys (my own photo) There was a lot of cabaret show in which people can watch ladyboys performing. What I mean with performing is dancing and lip-syncing to the song, not actually singing. Several years back, I watched ladyboys cabaret in Phuket Simon Cabaret. It was amazing! So when I went back for the second time in Thailand, I had to watch another ladyboys show. After searching on tripadvisor, or my favorite resources for travel realted experience, I decided to watch Ca...

My Long and Weird Journey to Wat Saket

Image
It was a sunny morning when I decided to go to Wat Saket. Widely known as Temple of the Golden Mount, I feel like this place was a very nice place to visit. It’s so easy to get there and the ticket entrance price was very affordable. Also, this is a highly recommended destination for those who want to see the landscape of Bangkok City with a nice deal. What you'll see inside of the Wat Saket (my own photo) How I got there? If you know the route, it was not supposed to be complicated at all. But since that was my first time, my route was kind complicated. Definitely a lesson to learn. I started my journey by getting on BTS Station Phaya Thai. My hotel was legit 3 minutes walking to the station. Very convenient. It only took me 1 station to get off the train. I got off at Ratchathewi Station (N1) (Sukhumvit Line). I took the exit number 1 then turned around and walked straight until about 200 meter. After 200 meter walking, I should’ve turned right to the Khlong Pier...
