The Old Man at Ratchawong Pier, China Town Bangkok.

Image
It was a hot evening when I decided to visit Asiatique. Since I was in Yaowarat (Ratchawong Pier), China Town Bangkok, the most efficient way to go to Asiatique was by riding tourist express boat. It cost a bit more from ordinary boat. Tourist boat with blue flag cost 40 baht per person, while if I went to Asiatique from Sathorn Pier near Saphan Taksin BTS Station by shuttle boat, it would be totally free of charge. But it was a waste of time to transit and queue agai n, hence I just simply let go my 40 baht for the sake of time efficiency and effectiveness.  The view from Ratchawong Pier (my own photo) Unfortunately enough, the tourist boat wouldn’t come until 4 pm. And when I bought the ticket, it was only around 2.30 pm. That said, I got to wait for about 1.5 hours. Since my feet were tired to further explore China Town while waiting for the boat to arrive, I just rest myself at the pier. It was a pretty chill evening. I sat on the long chair at the corner wa...

Watching the Prettiest Ladyboys at Calypso Asiatique

Image
For those who don’t know what is ladyboys, ladyboys is a term for guys who transgender into girls. They put on makeup, long hair, wearing skirt, and even do genitals plastic surgery to be girls. It’s not uncommon to see ladyboys in Thailand. I remember that many times I saw cashier or waitress that turned out to be ladyboys, or local calls it kathoey / katoey. Just like any other plastic surgery, some look extra ordinarily beautiful while other only look okay, even ‘meh.’ The fancy indoor of Calypso Ladyboys (my own photo) There was a lot of cabaret show in which people can watch ladyboys performing. What I mean with performing is dancing and lip-syncing to the song, not actually singing. Several years back, I watched ladyboys cabaret in Phuket Simon Cabaret. It was amazing! So when I went back for the second time in Thailand, I had to watch another ladyboys show. After searching on tripadvisor, or my favorite resources for travel realted experience, I decided to watch Ca...

My Long and Weird Journey to Wat Saket

Image
It was a sunny morning when I decided to go to Wat Saket. Widely known as Temple of the Golden Mount, I feel like this place was a very nice place to visit. It’s so easy to get there and the ticket entrance price was very affordable. Also, this is a highly recommended destination for those who want to see the landscape of Bangkok City with a nice deal. What you'll see inside of the Wat Saket (my own photo) How I got there? If you know the route, it was not supposed to be complicated at all. But since that was my first time, my route was kind complicated. Definitely a lesson to learn. I started my journey by getting on BTS Station Phaya Thai. My hotel was legit 3 minutes walking to the station. Very convenient. It only took me 1 station to get off the train. I got off at Ratchathewi Station (N1) (Sukhumvit Line). I took the exit number 1 then turned around and walked straight until about 200 meter. After 200 meter walking, I should’ve turned right to the Khlong Pier...

Fun Morning at Wat Arun Bangkok Thailand

Image
You’re not going to Thailand if you don’t go to at least one of the temple right? Or is that only my logic? With that mindset, on my second day trip I went to old city to explore the temple. Wat Arun is our first stop. The temple that is locally known as Wat Chaeng is located on the west of the Chao Phraya River. Such a beautiful temple (photo by me) How did I get there? After getting on at Phaya Thai BTS Station I got off at Saphan Taksin BTS Station . From there, I walked down the pier. I took the river boat for only 15 baht! If you’re not sure which one is the boat, look at the orange flag boat. That’s the right one. Or just follow the ticket counter that’s full of people. If you take the wrong boat, which is the tourist boat (blue flag) you’ll have to pay 40 baht. I was lucky because the moment I got there, the boat arrived. So I didn’t really have to wait in line. The boat was very packed and I didn’t get a seat. But I didn’t mind though, because I could just stand...

Review on Bai Po Massage Bangkok and How to Get There

Image
I used to be someone who oppose the idea of going into massage place when on vacation. Why? Because in my head I thought, why waste time to ‘rest’ when you can just do other activities and explore more about the area. But on my last holiday, I decided to give Bai Po, a massage parlor in Bangkok a try. Photo credit:  Trip Advisor Location: This place was below Bangkok Inn hotel. Located very close to Nana BTS, Bai Po wasn’t a typical high-end massage parlor. In fact, this was more of a budget massage parlor. But don’t let the negative stigma about budget massage parlor fool you, because I just had an amazing massage experience in here. How to get there: Hop on into BTS and get off at Nana BTS Station. From there, google Bai Po on google maps, or ask a local about it. Or if they don’t know, ask them where the Bangkok Inn hotel is. It’s across the Dosa King Indian Vegetarian Restaurant. Because it’s very close from Nana BTS Station, from there...

Chocolate Ville Bangkok Review

Image
In this post, I'll write everything I experienced in Chocollate Ville, Bangkok. Starting from the price, menu, how to get to Chocollate Ville, opening and closing time, what to do there, recommended activities, and everything about it. Saturday, April 14 th  2017, I spent about 30 minutes trying to catch grab taxi. After much difficulties, I finally found my taxi. Not gonna lie, because it was my first time trying to order a grab taxi in Bangkok, it was kind of troublesome. I was in the taxi for about 15 minutes until me and my friend arrived at Chocolate Ville. Thank God there were no traffic jam at all. From Chatuchak Weekend Market to Chocolate Ville we paid around 178 baht (or around 70 ribu rupiah) which is very affordable after being divided by 3 of us. Chocolate Ville opened at 4 PM until midnight I believe. When I arrived there, it was still 3.30-ish PM. So the timing was perfect right? The first thing we did, of course take whole bunch of picture. I was very ple...

Getting Wet and Humid at Chatuchak Weekend Market

Image
So I arrived at Bangkok last Saturday at 11-ish. Just as I was expected, the city was so hot and humid. Right after I stepped out from Don Muang International Airport, I dropped sweat. Anyway, fast forward to one hour after I failed at putting on my falsies, together with my friend, we went to Chatuchak Weekend Market. I read on several travel blogs that it was one of the top market that we had to visit. From the station near our hostel, Phaya Thai, we went straight to Mo Chit by BTS. I love how the market was located very close to the BTS Station. We could walk in just a minute to arrive at Chatuchak Weekend Market. Posing at the entrance of Chatuchak Weekend Market (photo by me) But because it was literally 12 pm, it was bloody hot. The sun shone too bright. I felt like the heat was spread equally into every surface of my body. But I was fortunate though, because the wind was cool. Last year I remember on Pattaya, not only the weather was humid, there was al...
